Communities in Schools

Summer is quickly coming to an end, and as we shop our kid’s school supply lists, it is important to remember those that may not be able to afford to do the same.
There are plenty of organizations to get involved with that help provide school supplies, clothes, food, and other items that children need to be successful and productive in school. Communities in Schools is an organization that works within schools and their surrounding communities to ensure that students thrive and finish school. They also connect students and their families to education and community based resources tailored to student’s specific needs.

There is more than one way you can help, and Communities in Schools makes it super easy to do so. Donate online using their easy-to-navigate website. You have the option to make a one-time donation, or set it up to give monthly. You can become an advocate by joining their Advocacy Network and gaining the support of legislators. Also, if you would like to be more hands-on in your giving, you can volunteer with your local Communities in Schools organization. There are currently over 40,000 volunteers that reach 1.3 million students every school year.
