The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a U.S. government program run by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program to help low-income households pay for internet service.
Who Qualifies?
Eligible households can qualify for up to a $30/month discount on internet service if someone in your household meets one of the following criteria, which are based on U.S. Government rules:
- Receives SNAP/food stamps, Medicaid or eligible to participate in another one of the FCC’s Lifeline qualifying programs
- Receives Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) benefit
- Receives individual (not county) free or reduced-price school lunch or breakfast through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
- Federal Pell Grant recipient in the current award year
- Gross annual household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
- Participates in Tribal specific programs, such as Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance, Tribal TANF, or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
Each household can only receive one affordable connectivity benefit. The benefit is portable from one participating provider to another, but cannot be transferred to another individual or household even if they qualify.

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) with oversight from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). If you are having issues with Wilkes Communications regarding an ACP-supported service or having difficulties enrolling with Wilkes Communications, you have the right to file a complaint with the FCC’s Consumer Complaint Center.
*ACP is a government program that reduces the households broadband Internet access service bill. Household will be subject to Wilkes Communications’ un-discounted rates and general terms and conditions if the member no longer qualifies or does not rectify with ACP. Households may obtain broadband service supported by the ACP from any participating provider of their choosing. Households may transfer their ACP benefit to another provider at any time. Household may make changes to their existing service at any time.
