This past Friday, the RiverStreet team had a fantastic time visiting the students of North Wilkes Middle School for their annual Career Day!
Middle school is such an exciting time for students. They are starting to move beyond “what I want to be when I grow up” and beginning to explore the real-world skills that will get them there. We were honored to be part of that discovery process.
Great Questions and Technical Curiosity
One of the highlights of our visit was the quality of the questions we received. From the mechanics of how fiber optic cables carry data across the county to what a typical “day in the life” looks like for our technicians, the students at NWMS were incredibly engaged.
We loved diving into the details of:
- The Technology: How we’re building a faster, more reliable network for our community.
- The Opportunity: The wide variety of roles available in the tech industry right here in North Carolina.
- The Skills: Why problem-solving and creativity are just as important as technical know-how.
