RiverStreet Acquires Virginia TDS Telecom
RiverStreet is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Amelia Telephone Corporation and New Castle Telephone Company from TDS Telecom. This strategic move is part of our ongoing commitment to expanding our presence and providing enhanced services to our valued customers.
The acquisition of Amelia Telephone Corporation and New Castle Telephone Company represents a significant milestone for RiverStreet and aligns with our long-term growth strategy. We are confident that this expansion will allow us to better serve our customers and communities in the Amelia & New Castle County areas.
As you integrate into the RiverStreet family, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for customers, employees, and business partners. We are dedicated to maintaining the high standards of service and quality synonymous with TDS Telecom while introducing new and innovative offerings.
Effective immediately, payments can no longer be made to TDS or through Western Union.
Payments made to TDS directly or through Western Union will delay updating your RiverStreet account balances and may result in late fees. All payments must be made directly to RiverStreet by mail, calling 844-238-0131 or by logging into your RiverStreet Account. Please update your records and payment method immediately to avoid service interruptions.

Important Notice – Discontinuation of TDS Telecom Email Service
Welcome to RiverStreet!
We are excited to be your new broadband provider. RiverStreet recently acquired the TDS Telecom communications network in your area.
We are writing to inform you that effective April 30, 2025, TDS Telecom email accounts will be discontinued. This means that your email address, will no longer be supported and will be deactivated in 45 days.
To avoid losing any important emails or contacts, we strongly encourage you to establish a new email account as soon as possible.
Free email services such as Gmail, iCloud Mail, Outlook, or Yahoo Mail are excellent options that allow you to keep an email address even if you move or change Internet providers.
What You Need To Do:
Create a New Email Account – Choose a service such as Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo and set up your new email.
Notify Your Contacts – Export your contacts from your emails settings and send a message from your new email to update friends, family, and business associates.
Forward Important Emails – Open any essential emails, click “Forward,” and send them to your new email address.
Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
- Go to TDS.net: Open a web browser and go to the TDS website (tds.net).
- Log in: Use your TDS email username and password to log into your webmail account.
- Navigate to Settings: Once logged in, look for a settings icon (often represented by a gear or three lines) in the top right corner.
- Find Incoming Email/Auto-Reply: Click on “Settings” and then look for sections like “Incoming Email,” “Auto-Reply,” or something similar.
- Enable Auto-Reply: Find the auto-reply or out-of-office feature and enable it.
- Compose your message: Enter the message you want to be sent to new emails. Make sure your text has no special characters.
- Save your settings: Save the changes to activate the autoresponder.
- Be clear and concise: Briefly explain why you’re unavailable and when you’ll be back.
- Provide contact information: If urgent matters require immediate attention, provide a colleague’s contact information.
- Consider a return date: Mention the date you expect to be back in the office.
- Example message: “I am currently out of the office and will be back on [Return Date]. If your request is urgent, please contact [Colleague Name] at [email or phone number]. Otherwise, I’ll get back to you when I return.”

NOTICE OF LONG-DISTANCE CARRIER CHANGE

Welcome to RiverStreet! We are excited to be your new service provider. RiverStreet recently acquired the TDS Telecom communications network in your area.
We are pleased to announce the transfer of long-distance service customers of TDS Telecom to RiverStreet based in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Service Transition Details:
- Your long-distance service is expected to transfer from TDS Telecom to RiverStreet on or after April 7, 2025.
- As of the transfer date, customers of TDS Telecom will automatically become long-distance service customers of RiverStreet unless other arrangements have been made.
- All long-distance services previously received from TDS Telecom will continue uninterrupted.
- No charges will be applied for transferring your service to RiverStreet, and no action is required from you to complete this transition.
Your Choice in Long-Distance Carriers: As a customer, you have the right to select your long-distance service provider. If you prefer to switch to another provider, we encourage you to contact that carrier immediately to ensure a timely transfer before April 7, 2025. Please note that changing carriers may involve a transfer charge.
Unless you select a different provider before the transfer date, RiverStreet will continue to provide your intrastate, interstate, and international long-distance telephone services. Any existing preferred carrier freezes placed on your account with TDS Telecom will be removed as part of this transfer. If you wish to reinstate these restrictions, please contact us starting on April 21, 2025.

We are reaching out because your account was previously set up for automated payments. Due to privacy regulations, we were unable to transfer your recurring payment information during the transition. To ensure a smooth payment process moving forward, we offer several convenient options:
Payment Options:
- Set Up Recurring Payments by calling RiverStreet to automatically charge your credit card or checking account for recurring payments.
- Use Online Bill Pay – Visit www.myriverstreet.net to pay online with your first RiverStreet invoice.
Moving forward, you will receive a monthly invoice from RiverStreet, with a new due date on the 26th of each month. If you choose to set up autopay, your payment will be processed automatically on the due date.
Paper Statements & Electronic Billing Options
- We utilize electronic statements by default, but you can elect to receive a paper statement for a $3.00 monthly fee.
- If you choose electronic statements and set up autopay, you will receive a $5.00 credit each month.

This letter serves as notice that your Static IP will be changing due to the recent acquisition of TDS Telecom. At 12:01 AM on May 30, 2025 your existing static IP address/es will no longer be valid, and your Internet services will discontinue until you make the necessary changes on your network. Please contact our Commercial Sales Department before making any changes. Please call 844-238-0131, Option 3 Commercial Sales when you receive this letter.
If you no longer need a Static IP, please contact our Commercial Sales Department at the number referenced above. Changes will have to be made on our network to accommodate a DHCP connection.

RiverStreet’s mission statement is to provide excellence in customer service and add value to the lives of our customers. Having completed a Fiber-to-the-Home overbuild in the headquarters area, the need to help fill those gaps in other rural parts of surrounding areas became evident. Your current service area will be reviewed and plans will be developed on how to most effectively support and/or upgrade existing facilities.
RiverStreet will work to ensure your services are not impacted. You will continue to receive any subscribed services. Additional products will also become available in the future.
You will receive a final bill from TDS Telecom for services from April 13, 2025 – May 12, 2025. Your first RiverStreet bill will cover services from May 13, 2025 – June 6, 2025, and may be lower than a typical monthly invoice. Beginning in June 2025, all invoices will reflect a full billing cycle from the 7th of one month to the 6th of the next.
For now you will pay your bill as normal with TDS. When you start receiving RiverStreet invoices the following payment options will be available.
Option 1: Mail In Payment – Mail your payment with the remittance stub on your invoice to send a payment by mail. Payments are applied on the day they are received.
Option 2: Phone Payment -Call 844-238-0131 to make a one-time credit card payment or e-check over the phone. There is no service charge for this option.
Option 3: Recurring payments (Auto-Pay) – Set up automatic payment via ACH (checking account) or credit card.
Option 4: Register for an online bill pay account at myriverstreet.net to manage payments and receive paperless billing.
You should continue reporting any service issues directly to TDS Telecom until April 20, 2025. Beginning April 21, 2025, if you experience any service issues, you can submit a trouble ticket with RiverStreet by logging into your online account at myriverstreet.net or calling us at 844-238-0131.
Yes. You will need to set up a new draft with RiverStreet. Contact Customer Service at 844-238-0131 for assistance in setting up your new draft.
If you have a contract signed with TDS, RiverStreet will review the existing terms and conditions and work with you to meet your contractual agreement.
Yes. All account holders must establish a PIN account verification. By using PIN account verification, account inquiries or changes can be made by other members upon authentication. PIN Account Verification forms are included in your Welcome Booklet.
