There is something truly special about the curiosity of elementary students. This past week, the RiverStreet team had the pleasure of visiting Millers Creek Elementary for their Career Day, and we had a blast sharing the “magic” behind how the internet actually works!
How We Keep the Community Connected
Most students know the internet is there, but they don’t often get to see how it gets to their homes. We gave the students an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the world of Fiber Internet.
We talked about:
- The Speed of Light: How we use thin strands of glass (fiber) to send information faster than they can blink!
- The Tools of the Trade: A look at some of the cool tech our team uses every day to build and maintain our network.
- Teamwork: How it takes a whole team of creative thinkers and tech experts to keep Millers Creek connected to the rest of the world.
Inspiring Future Innovators
The students at Millers Creek didn’t just listen—they engaged with fantastic questions and high energy. It’s always our goal at RiverStreet to show these young minds that “tech” isn’t just about sitting in front of a screen; it’s a hands-on, exciting career where you get to build things that help your neighbors.
